Technology – Construction Fibres
Due to our advanced production methods, Wiking® Construction Fibres offer a number of unique quality features.
Reduction of air intake in concrete to 1%
For the production of Wiking® Construction Fibres, we have developed a special mix for coating, which reduces the air-intake in concrete to less than 1%. In comparison, competitive polypropylene fibre products lead to an air-intake of about 5-10%. Hence, greater strength is achieved when using Wiking® Construction fibres.
Chemical, biological and mould resistance
Polypropylene fibre is the only synthetic fibre that is resistant to both acids and bases. Therefore, we only produce fibres from 100% virgin polypropylene at our plant, allowing us to guarantee a product that is fully resistant to chemical solvents and biological degradation. However, our construction fibres are coated with an organic coating, which may lead to mould growth if the fibres are not used within 6 months of production.
Clean cuts
In fibre production, blunt blades will cause a significant heating of the fibres and make them stick together when stored in boxes. As a standard, we frequently change the blades in our production to ensure clean cuts and well separated fibres.
