Technology – Construction Fibres

Due to our advanced production methods, Wiking® Construction Fibres offer a number of unique quality features.

Reduction of air intake in concrete to 1%

For the production of Wiking® Construction Fibres, we have developed a special mix for coating, which reduces the air-intake in concrete to less than 1%. In comparison, competitive polypropylene fibre products lead to an air-intake of about 5-10%. Hence, greater strength is achieved when using Wiking® Construction fibres.

Chemical and biological resistance

Polypropylene fibre is the only synthetic fibre that is resistant to both acids and bases. Therefore, we only produce fibres of 100% virgin polypropylene at our plant, so that we can guarantee a product, which is fully resistant to chemical solvents.

Clean cuts

In fibre production, blunt blades will cause a significant heating of the fibres and make them stick together when stored in boxes. As a standard, we frequently change the blades in our production to ensure clean cuts and well separated fibres.
