Danish Fibres and Microplastics
At Danish Fibres, we deliver high-quality polypropylene fibers for a wide range of applications, including concrete reinforcement, soil stabilization, paper reinforcement, and more. We are aware of the environmental challenges posed by microplastics and always work to ensure that our products comply with the latest regulations and standards.
We closely follow the applicable EU regulations.
The Construction Products Regulation sets requirements for construction products, including polymer fibers in concrete, and we ensure that our products meet these requirements to ensure high performance and environmental sustainability. Additionally, we comply with the DS/EN 14889-2:2006 standard, which describes the requirements for polymer fibers in concrete, to ensure optimal strength and durability.
To minimize the environmental impact of microplastics, we comply with Regulation (EU) 2023/2055, which restricts products that can release microplastics into the environment. We also continuously work to improve the environmental profile of our products in accordance with the Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2023/2486, which sets requirements for the environmental impact of products, including emissions from polymer materials.
Finally, we ensure that our products are designed with sustainability and minimal environmental impact in mind at the end of their use in accordance with the Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC).
Our Products
Construction Products: Our monofilament polypropylene fibers are ideal for preventing cracks in concrete. They are certified for use in concrete and meet the strictest requirements for quality and performance.
Technical Fibers: Our technical fibers, including Wiking® fibers, are developed for a wide range of applications such as air filtration, paper reinforcement, and soil stabilization. These fibers are made from 100% virgin polypropylene and offer a range of benefits, including high tensile strength and resistance to biological and chemical attacks.
At Danish Fibres, we are committed to delivering products that not only meet your needs but also contribute to a sustainable future.
